Amazon Affiliate Programme Management

Amazon is where shoppers start. Your partners should be there too.

Since Amazon opened up more API functionality to the affiliate channel, brands have had a real chance to build an Amazon-focused partner programme that’s trackable, scalable, and commercially accountable.

Leveraging our 22 years of experience in the partner industry, we are dedicated to working with partners specifically focused on Amazon promotion to help support a brand’s strategic and commercial goals. We cover everything from recruitment to optimisation across the publisher mix.

What is Amazon Affiliate Marketing?

Amazon affiliate marketing is when partners promote your products and send shoppers to your Amazon listings, with performance measured through Amazon’s attribution tools (rather than relying on the Associates model alone).

The big difference is the partner mix. Amazon affiliate programmes tend to lean into:
• Media buyers
• Comparison and discovery partners
• Content creators and editorial commerce
• Deal and loyalty partners (where it makes sense for your category)

Done properly, it becomes an upper-funnel and conversion channel, not just “voucher sites and hope”.

Strategic And Performance Benefits

  • A different partner mix to traditional affiliate programmes: Unlike traditional affiliates, Amazon’s partnership mix is a collection of Media Buyers, Comparison Partners, Content Creators & Deal Websites, helping brands to build a strong upper-funnel mix for awareness and increase revenue, while retaining control of brand image through utilising Amazon Attribution as opposed to Associates.
  • Higher intent traffic, stronger conversion: Directing affiliates to the marketplace increases brand awareness and conversion. Industry data suggests that over 63% of online shoppers start their product search on Amazon, compared to just 15% on Google. and average marketplace conversion sitting 10% higher than that of a traditional ecommerce website.
  • Access to Amazon’s retail calendar: Brands can tap into the wider Amazon ecosystem, participating in key shopping days such as Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Day, positioning brands front and centre of high-intent audiences
  • Built for long-term scalability: Amazon Affiliates offers brands long term scalability, typical contribution stands between 7-8% in year 1, with the capacity to grow to 15-20% as the program matures.
  • Supporting wider Amazon performance: Working within Amazon also serves to support a brand’s organic and paid traffic. For every referred sale sent to Amazon from a third party, organic and paid placements receive a boost, creating a healthier cost margin.

FAQs

No. From 2025, Amazon will not allow creators or partners to earn commission through multiple Amazon-sanctioned programmes from the same piece of traffic. Each customer journey must be attributed to a single programme, so links need to be structured clearly to remain compliant and avoid tracking or payment issues.

Unlike traditional DTC affiliate programs that operate on a 30 day cookie window, Amazon Associates operate a Standard 24-hour cookie window, while Amazon Attribution operates a 14-day “last-touch” attribution window. The latter is the one used within an Amazon affiliates program.

Amazon Attribution does not report in real time. It’s common for clicks and conversions to take between 12 and 48 hours to appear in reporting. This delay is part of how Amazon processes and validates attribution data across its systems. While it can feel slow compared to traditional affiliate platforms, the data does populate once confirmed and should be reviewed over time rather than on a live basis.

This is a program for Brand Registered US sellers that pays back an average of 10% of the sale price as a credit against their referral fees. You must use an Amazon Attribution link for the sale to qualify. At present, this incentive is not available across UK or European Amazon marketplaces.

In 2026, the trend is hybrid. Brands offer a small flat fee (content creation only) plus a performance-based commission (usually 15–20%) tracked via an Attribution link or a platform.

Traditional affiliate programmes usually drive traffic to a brand’s own website. Amazon affiliate programmes send traffic to marketplace listings, where shopper intent is higher and conversion rates are typically stronger. The partner mix and attribution model are also different.
